\huge\mathfrak{Answer:}

Iron is “red hot” at 700°C; boiling water is 100°C. The heat from the iron will be absorbed by the water which will undergo a phase change to steam. The temperature of the iron will drop until it is in equilibrium with the water—100°C. The water will not get hotter, but it will produce more steam.
