when hydrogen gas is filled in a balloon the balloon starts floating in air.
this is because, most of the air is made of nitrogen and oxygen which have heavier molecular weight than hydrogen , air in the atmosphere is more dense than the air in a hydrogen filled balloon.

Hydrogen is lighter gas than other gases present in the air.So the balloon starts floating.
