When hydrogen is added to a vegetable oil it changes into a solid form called vanaspati ghee in the presence of nickel called catalyst through the process of hydrogenation. During hydrogenation vegetable oil is reacted with hydrogen at 60°C in the presence of Nickel catalyst.
