Hydrogen and strong acids behave differently.
Strong acids dissociate in water to form negatively charged ions and H ions.
Later these negatively charged ions will react with H of water.
I hope this helps you.

explanation:an acid will react with a metal to form a salt and hydrogen gas.
acid +metal----------->salt+hydrogen.
hydrogen does not react with dilute acids.
the hydrogen in a strong acid such as Hcl or HNO3 behaves quite differently.when these acids dissolve in water, hydrogen in the form of a proton, H+ seprates completely from the negatively charged ion, the anion (cl-or no3-), and interact with the water molecules.
