What happens when:
(i) Dry apricots are left in pure water for some time and later transferred to sugar solution.
(ii) The plasma membrane of a cell breaks down.

Here's your answer :-

1. When dry apricots are left in pure water for sometime, apricots swell because water is a dilute solution.

however when those dry apricots are letters transferred into sugar solution they shrink because sugar solution is a concentrated solution.

2. when plasma membrane of a cell break down the functioning of cell stops, the entry and exit of substances do not take place and hence cell

dies.
