What happens when I throw boiling water into freezing air?

when you throw boiling water in air, due to expansion in the volume, there is a abrupt decrease in temperature. As this happens, the water starts cooling. Now, since the surroundings is cool, the temperature decrease far more. As a result the steam from the boiling water condenses and cloud like precipitation is observed.
