when an iron nail is kept in a solution of copper sulphate the iron nail gets coated with Red Brown copper metal this happens because iron being more reactive than copper displaces copper from copper sulphate and iron sulphate is formed which is green in colour the displaced copper gets deposited as a copper coating on the iron nail
