When iron nails are places in copper sulphate solution, the highly reactive metal iron displaces copper from its copper salt solution.

Fe(s) + CuSO4(aq) ———» FeSO4(aq) + Cu(s)

the portion of iron nail kept inside solution become reddish brown.this is because a layer of copper het deposited over surface of iron...
