What happens when metal carbonates or bicarbonates reacts with acid. Explain

with proper example.

Please note that the values of charge and mass of the residual particles are of protons when hydrogen gas is enclosed in the discharge tube. In case some other gas is enclosed, then the positive residues differ in the values of mass and charge. This means that unlike electron, a proton is not a universal particle.
