Acid + Metal Hydrogen Carbonate ----------> Salt + Water + Carbon Dioxide

Example: NaHCO3 (s) + HCl (aq) → NaCl (aq) + CO2 (g) + H2O (l)

The gas produced is Carbon dioxide

The test for the Gas :

When we pass the gas through limewater (Ca(OH)2) it turns it milky.

When we pass the gas to a burning splinter. The fire goes out.

Thanks
