Potassium and sodium being the two most reactive metals of our Reactivityseries, they do not need to be burnt toreact with oxygen. The reaction starts as soon as they get into contact with air. When burnt in oxygen, magnesium burns in a white dazzling flame to form magnesium oxide (MgO), a white ash.
