when metal react with dilute hydrochloric acid it forms chloride salts of metal with the evolution of hydrogen gas.
copper react with concentrated nitric acid forming copper nitrate and NO2 gas .

when metel reacts with acid , a salt and hydrogen are produced: acid + metal → salt + hydrogen An example: nitric acid + calcium → calcium nitrate + hydrogen The salt that is produced depends upon which acid and which metal react.
