Generally non-metals do not react with acid because non-metals accept electron from other so they cannot donate Hydrogen ion to the acid with which they are reacting so there is no reaction. Carbon react with sulphuric acid producing CO2,SO2 and water.

They react with bases to form salts and water. Reactions of other non-metals with bases are actually quite complex. Non-metal oxides are usually acidic in nature and react with bases in the same way as acids (salt and water).

NON METALGENERALLY  DONOT  REACT WITH ACID AS THEY DONOT LOSE ELECTRONS BUT ACCEPT ELECTRONS.

THEY REACT WITH BASE TO FORM SALT + WATER
