it is the combination reaction

when quick lime (calcium oxide) reacts with water ; it forms calcium hydroxide

it is highly exothermic reaction..

the equation for this reaction is -

CaO + H2O--------> Ca(OH)2

When Calcium oxide i.e. quick lime is added to water filled in a bucket, it reacts vigorously with water to produce slaked lime (calcium hydroxide) releasing a large amount of heat.
