When a copper vessel is exposed to moist air for a long time it develops a green layer on its surface. Copper corrodes by oxidation in which it reacts with oxygen in the air to form copper oxide.

And silver becomes black when exposed to air for a long time as you would have seen in case of old artifacts made of this element. The traces of H2S, present in the air, reacts with the silver(better to say oxidized silver layer) to form Silver Sulphide.
