What happens when soaked almonds are kept in a saturated solution?

the almonds shrink becoz the water in the surrounding has high concentration. ... When almonds are soaked in water for a long time then the water present outside of almonds get inside the almonds through the process of osmosis and as water enters inside the almonds grow somewhat bigger.
