what happens when sodium is kept exposed in air

Hey mate here is your answer....

Sodium is highly reactive in the atmosphere so it is kept in kerosene.
if sodium will exposed to the atmosphere then there may have some explosive effect.

When sodium exposed in air. It burns vigorously.The metal react with Air and form metal oxide. That's Why we kept sodium in paraffin wax or in kerosene oil.
