what happens when sodium is kept in air

Hi friend, here is your answer
ln ordinary air, sodium metal reacts to form sodium hydroxide which can rapidly absorbed carbon dioxide from the air forming sodium bicarbonate.
Sodium is very softly , highly reactive and when it is exposed to the air it easily get oxidised.
