Sodium peroxide is added to water then it give sodium hydroxide and hydrogen peroxide.

Na2O2 + 2 H2O → 2 NaOH + H2O.

It is hydrolysed when it’s dissolved in water, to produce sodium hydroxide and hydrogen peroxide:

Na2O2 + H2O → 2NaOH + H2O2
