It depends on what type of surface is it.
I am telling about solid, when sound passes through it the atom starts to move and in condition passing the sound to an other particle.

The bouncing back of sound through a hard surface is called reflection of sound . The law of reflection of light are obeyed during the reflection of sound .
1. The incident sound wave, reflected sound wave and the normal at the point of incidence, all lie in the same plane .
2. The angle of reflection of sound is always equals to to angle of incidence of sound.☺☺
