Every month the ovary releases one ova or oocyte.
Then the ova is transported to fallopian tube which is the site of fertilisation.
The fertilised egg then moves to uterus where the walls are thickened in order to provide nutrition.
If the cell doesn't fertilise then the wall of uterus breaks and it turns to menstruation.

i think placenta fall down not the wall of uterus...

When a human egg is not fertilized, it (along with the lining of the uterus that was prepared to receive and nurture it in case of fertilization) leaves the woman’s body in the monthly bleeding known as her period.
when a chicken egg is not fertilized, we generally collect and then eat it.
