What happens when two spring balances joined at their joined at their free ends are pulled apart both show the same reading

Let the two spring balances be A and B.

When A is pulled B exerts force on it and
when B is pulled A exerts force on it.

When they are pulled apart simultaneously they both (A and B) exert the force.

So they both show the same reading.
