what happens when we fail to achieve equality?

The presumption is that ‘we’ can reach an objective equality. I would argue that Americans live within a tertiary period of the Emancipation Proclamation where freedom given is done so in thought only with seldom action to follow. First it was for African Americans to be bequeathed with rights, followed by women. The chains that bound each still remain today less someone perceives them or not.

And for the final stage, its all men, women, or immigrant that lay shackled to systemic racism and poverty, to disease and pre-existing conditions, to government assistance and endless debt due to inadequate healthcare, limited pay raises or adequate cost of living increases; unjust laws, and those that enforce them. No, as we each hide away in our homes from the deadly Corona virus, the young, the impoverish, and the old are given lots to see who lives and who dies for the sake of a crippled economy to prosper for the highest among us while those below tremble in fear, tremble with rage.

Hope it helps you
