While respiration, we inhale Oxygen and exhale Carbon dioxide. This happens while we respire.

Respiration simply means breathing in fresh air and using it for bodily functions and then exhaling out waste left out, i.e. CO2 (major component). When we inhale fresh air our lungs separate out Oxygen from it and then heart supplies this Oxygen to whole body through blood vessels, blood vessels use this Oxygen to break down sugars and release energy. But, the main or the basic definition of respiration is taking in fresh air, utilising the Oxygen in it for breaking down complex sugars and obtaining energy and then exhaling out the waste components like CO2.

RahulKatiyar: I know that dear, respiration is more of a chemocal process than a biological process.
