Explanation:

It means that an object moving along a straight path at a constant speed will continue to move in the same path at the same speed, until and unless an external force is applied on it.

In the above example, when we ride a cycle, it moves in the same direction at the same speed until and unless brakes are applied (external unbalanced force).

But if a force acting on it had an equal magnitude then there will be no effect.
