(a) magnesium ribbon is burnt in the air:

2Mg + O₂ → 2MgO

When magnesium ribbon burns in the air, it reacts with Oxygen and forms a magnesium oxide compound also we get a small amount of light.

(b) zinc granules are added to hydrochloric acid:

Zn + 2HCl → ZnCl₂ + H₂

Zinc granules react with HCl and form zinc chloride and Hydrogen gas evolved.

(c) quicklime is added to water filled in a bucket:

CaO + H₂O → Ca(OH)₂ + Heat

When quicklime is added to water filled in a bucket, it reacts with water and forms Calcium hydroxide and heat.
