When it is a strong speech people are more interested in what the speaker is talking about. If the speaker is all slouchy and boring than people will get bored faster and not be as interested. Even if, let's say two people are giving speeches about the same topic, but one of the speakers has a lot of energy and they're cheerful but the other speaker is tired and bored, people are going to be more interested in the cheerful, happy speaker.
