when we heat the iron rod in the flame, due to high melting point of Iron, the heat conducts in its material and thus the iron gets heated up.
And if the temperature of flame is more and efficient then iron can melt also...
hope it helps
good luck

Answer:
The iron rod will conduct heat, change its color and may even melt depending on the temperature provided.
Explanation:
- When we toast an iron rod, some quantum of heat energy that was absorbed by iron rod is emitted as light.
- First, iron turns into red( lower energy corresponding to advanced wavelength) and as the temperature rises it glows and turns into orange, unheroic, blue or indeed white independently( advanced energy and lower wavelength).
- Still, it turns into white light which includes all visible wavelengths, If we go on heating the rod.
- So we find some changes in color while flaming an iron rod.
- Further, if we raise the temperature to 1538 °C the iron rod will start melting.
