1 Is multiplicative identity,

It means the number which is multiplied to its inverse gives this number

f(x)×f-¹(x)=ê(identity relation)(x€R)

For example:

2×(1/2)=1;

√2×1/√2≠2

So any number multiplied by its identity give same number

f(x)×ê=f(x)
