Explanation:
One of the main effects of force is that if enough force is applied, it may change the shape of the object.
Forces are basically carriers of energy, so when we apply force to balloon's surface, it changes the potential energy (energy of an object by it's position and shape) of the object hence the object gets deformed [this will become more clear in the next chapter (work and energy)]
