Sulphuric acid is a strong acid also known as "KING OF ACIDS"
and shows all acidic properties.
So, by acidic property of sulphuric acid , when it reacts with a active metal it gives out hydrogen and salt.
Zinc is an active metal which when added to acid , it gives out a sulphuric salt and a colourless and odourless gas hydrogen.
- Take a clean and dry ,test tube and add zinc granules to it.
- Now,add sulphuric acid to the test tube.
- A colourless odurless gas evolves and a salt is formed which is zinc sulphate.

- When a glowing splinter is brought in contact with the gas , it extinguishes.
