what happens when zinc granules are treated with dilute solution of s 2 s o4

when zinc granules gets mixed with dil. H2SO4 the following reactions take palce:-

Zn + H2S04 ⇒ ZnSO4 + H2

zinc granules gets converted into zinc sulphate and hydrogen gas escapes
