What happens when zinc is heated in air

Zinc reacts fairly quickly to form zinc oxide. Iron reacts slowly at room temperature but quickly if it is heated. Metals below iron react with oxygen when they are heated in air.

When zinc is heated in air, if the temperature crosses the melting point, the zing will melt.
