hii..

When Zinc reacts with Sodium hydroxide...it forms Sodium Zincate.

In this reaction Zinc will not displace sodium from Sodium hydroxide, but will displace hydrogen as shown below :-

2NaOH + Zn ---> Na2 ZnO2 + H2
