When zinc strip is dipped in solution of copper sulphate, zinc displaces copper n forms zinc sulphate as the zinc is more reactive than copper.

When a zinc strip is dipped in copper sulphate solution, a reaction occurs in which zinc displaces copper from its sulphate solution and forms zinc sulphate as zinc is higher than copper in the activity series. Hence, a reddish brown discharge of copper is also seen in the solution.
