In this reactionzinc displace copper fromcopper sulphate compound so that copper is set free . The blue colour of copper sulphate solution fades due to the formation of zinc sulphate which is colourless.... This displacement reaction take place because zinc is more reactive than copper .

Copper Sulphate solution is blue in colour. When zinc strip is dipped in it, the solutions colours slowly fades away. This is because a displacement reaction occurs .
