Plasmolysed cells are plant cells that have shrinked in size as they are placed in hypertonic solution. When they are placed in water, they come back to their normal size with the help of osmosis and then swell up a bit.

Plasmolysis is the process by which the cytoplasm of the cell gets shrinked due to the loss of water by osmosis. When aplasmolysed cell is places in water, thecell absorbs water from outside due to difference in solute concentration inside and outside the cell. By absorbing waterthe cell becomes turgid.
