Dear Student,

● Answer -

hw = 10.336 m

◆ Explanation -

Given that same pressures acts on both column of mercury and column of water.

Pw = Pm

ρw.g.hw = ρm.g.hm

ρw.hw = ρm.hm

hw = ρm.hm/ρm

hw = 760 × 13.6 / 1

hw = 10336 mm

hw = 10.336 m

Hence, height of water column having same pressure as mercury column is 10.336 m.

Thanks dear. Hope this helps you...
