In the poem 'The Rime of the Ancient Mariner',the ancient mariner had killed the albatross,which was considered to be a Christian soul by the mariners of the ship.This was the sin which he had committed.H e committed the sin because he associated the lack of wind in the region,where the ship was struck to the albatross.He thought that the albatross had brought them bad luck and he shot with the crossbow.
