The industrial revolution was the basic factor that helped the growth of new towns and new cities in 19th century. The simple towns were getting the shape of manufacturing towns. Colonies were established to accommodate the increasing laborers of the factories. The Railway tracks were laid down for the smoother and faster transportation of the raw materials and the manufactured goods. So the town continued to grow and got bigger.
