Answer:

Basically aerenchyma is parenchyma tissue in aquatic plants. The cells of aerenchyma make a network which has wide air spaces or air cavities for gaseous exchange. These air cavities make the plant light and buoyant and hence, plants can float easily in water.

Aquatic plants float because they have the presence of large air cavities present inside them that helps them in floating. As we know aquatic plants come in the category of parenchyma but due to the property of Beyoncy(property of object to float on water) they also come in special category of arenchyma.
