Answer:

When you suck on the straw you are lowering the atmospheric pressure inside the straw. The pressure of the air on the top surface of the drink then is pushing down on the liquid inside the cup with more force than the pressure of the air inside the straw pushing down on the surface of the liquid in the straw.

Answer:

When you drink from a straw, you create a little space of low pressure inside your mouth and in the top of the straw. Then the air outside the straw pushes down on the surface of the drink and forces the liquid up through the straw and into your mouth.

When you suck on the straw you are lowering the atmospheric pressure inside the straw.

The pressure of the air on the top surface of the drink then is pushing down on the liquid inside the cup with more force than the pressure of the air inside the straw pushing down on the surface of the liquid in the straw.

Hope it helps u❤
