When zinc granules reacts with dilute h2so4 or hcl the acid reacts with zinc, it forms zinc sulphate or zinc chloride and hydrogen gas is evolved..
H2SO4 + Zn ——> ZnSO4 + H2^
2HCl + + Zn ——>ZnCl² + H2^
