The author has highlighted the hypocrisy in the story 'Mrs. Packletide's Tiger' in the form of the cheap mentality people have now a days. According to the story, Mrs. Packletide wanted to kill a tiger just to outshine Mrs. Loona Bimberton, who was apparently the matter of discussion those days. This shows the sheer jealousy people have for each other in today's world.

Hypocrisy of the society is people can go to great lengths to prove their superiority. She later hides the truth about the real story behind the hunting.

This is the mere stupidity in our society. Which is, Unfortunately, So common.

Hope it helps! :)
