Displacement reaction:-

  • The reaction in which highly reactive metal removes less reactive metals from its solution.

Example :-

Fe + CuSO\:_4  \: -> CuSO\:_4 + Fe

It is of two types:-

  • Single Displacement reaction:- The reaction in which highly reactive metal removes less reactive metals from its solution.

  • Double Displacement reaction:- The reaction in which change of ions occurs is known as Double Displacement reaction.
