What if in human beings oxygenated blood mixes with deoxygenated blood?

Answer:

  1. Then O2 efficiency decreases.
  2. The Haemoglobin in the blood will gradually decrease in our blood.
  3. If oxygenated and deoxygenated bloods get mixed, it will reduce the overall efficiency of blood to carry oxygen to the tissues.  
  4. But after a while, the pulmonary resistance will increase, and if it becomes greater than the systemic circulation, it will cause blood flow from the right to the left ventricles.
