What if money didn't exist ?

Most people that I've asked so far thinks that the only reason that the world is advanced as it is because of money and competition. I think with the capabilities of mass-production and robotics it's only a matter of time before all jobs except become automated, respectively money would become irrelevant. I believe that technology will continue to advance because it's as much as a hobby for some as it is a job for others.

If money didn't exist then there is barter system which is very difficult to handle
