Liquid Oxygen is well below freezing. ... The swallowed liquid would boil furiously and turn into high-pressure gas (in this case, oxygen). That gas would put too much pressure on your stomach and esophagus, perforating one or both of them. That would release the gas into your chest which would collapse your lungs
