what if we take saline water(from ocean) and freeze it. and form wires out of it to use it on south pole in research centres. It would be cheaper than copper wires.
But recall that: * temperature at south pole is extremely cold
* Saline water is a good conductor
*Ocean covers most of the earth

It can be done....

But we need a big amount of labour and cost to Finish it up...

So yeah... It can may be the future of the World....
