If I were the Prime Minister of India?

"It's not just growing like a tree in bulk does make a man better be or standing along an oak three hundred years to fall a log at last, dry, bald and sere a lily of a day, is fairer far in May Although it falls and dies that night. "

- Ben Johnson

Being the chief of the governing body of any nation isn't a catwalk and when the nation being referred to is the largest democracy in the world it is a different story altogether. From times immemorial , we have been thriving in a multicultural, multiracial, multilingual and multireligious society.

Ours is a nation dogged with problems like unemployment, poverty, and insurgency . Even the caste system prevalent in the society adds to the disparity in the nation. Corruption has spread to the grassroots level and crimes have increased at such an alarming rate that every time you switch on to a news channel you have nothing else to hear to.

I would like to develop India as a strong self reliant nation. For this first of all I would like to have a check on the increasing population. Population control would be one of the priorities. People would be taught about their duties in respect of their rights as provided by the constitution. I would leave no stone unturned to bring peace in my country. Law and Order will be maintained at all cost.

Another thing, to which I shall devote my energy, is the education system. I shall raise its standard and make it based on merit and for all. There will be reservation only on economic grounds and not on caste basis.

My heart feels so very hurt when I see all around me the influence of westernisation in our country. It appears that we have just nothing of our own and we are learning and have learnt everything from the West. I would infuse the teaching of Indian culture in every school and college.

I would try to improvise and convert our nation into a true blend of past and future .
